Gerard Philipp started working in Stained Glass in the mid-80’s and was able to devote more time to it after he retired from IBM in 2000. A strong influence to pursue this area was his wife, Barbara, an accomplished artist. In this new chapter in life, he shares his time between the quest to capture unique designs in Stained Glass, playing golf and spending time on his favorite trout streams fly fishing. He also enjoys going to Boston each year to visit the USS Cassin Young DD793 at Charlestown Naval Yard. He served on her from 1958 -1960 in the US Navy.
Designing in Stained Glass is like having a palette with an infinite number of colors plus degrees of opalescence and surface textures. No two designs are ever alike. The process is described in the Custom Design Process section. The designs are described best as " Window Art" or sometimes panels. They are mounted in frames where hooks are attached. Then to display them you just have to attach some decorative chain.

Most of the pieces shown on the web site are in my inventory and will get to UPS within 5 working days. The UPS Ground can take from 2 - 6 days depending on zip code. I ship only to residential addresses and no PO Box's in continental USA. There will be additional charges for Canada. If the piece is not in stock, then I will design a new one and it should be to UPS in 3-4 weeks. As to a custom design, about 4 - 6 weeks after agreement on the design and contract is signed with the appropriate down payment. I accept PayPal for all purchases of items shown on the web site.
